January 30, 2023 Indefinitely stopped development - cleaning house
I've pretty much ended this project. I've fallen in love with Godot, and am remaking this game in Godot, with many more features. Hopefully it won't be as wonky, as Gdscript feels like a "better" language to game dev in. I will be posting more of a dev log on my main page. I already have most of the features implemented but want to get some more completed before I release it in any capacity to the public. I'm going to leave this page up, and will probably make a small "post mortem" with pictures of the multiple iterations of this game that I've created over the past couple years. My goal is to start consolidating my projects to one page and one blog, as I currently have 3 blogs going along with this game development log. It's getting cumbersome to remember to update different pages.

Released 0.0.2. This update should be save game compatible, as it adds some new mechanics and events, however does not change anything important from the previous release. It worked fine on my machine, but who knows. I don't know what I'm doing half the time. As I get more involved in these projects, I may start a Mastadon account in order to get some feedback. I'm not sure how I want to proceed with the next update. Right now, I feel the game is a little too slow paced for a single player browser game. This is more the pace I'd expect a PBBG to be going. I do know that the next update, and any updates thereafter will not be save game compatible. I plan on implementing a version checking in saving/loading games so things don't get all wonky.

It's been a while, as I've been working on different projects. I will be slowly updating this game. I really want to continue to expand my Javascript knowledge and make a game, however I'm also working on a Godot project, so this will be my secondary priority. Hopefully I will be able to update this game once a month, as I want to schedule a set time to dedicate to work in this project. Anyway, follow my blog for more news!
August 29, 2022- Resources!
Basic resources have been added to the game and are currently being updated every 30 seconds in game. Currently there are only six resources, and once they are used up I will slowly add more as needed. Being as this is set in 5000BC, I only needed to get a small amount of things running here. I also added the top menu for the game to make a sort of path for me to follow. The next step is the population resource, but I haven't found out where I am going to put that. Then I will add some buildings and release the version to my website as 0.0.1.
August 23, 2022- Working on 0.0.1!
Started working on the layout of the project. I am using code from previous idle game projects I've trashed over the years. Sort of taking the best of everything I've learned so far. Currently using HTML, CSS, and Javascript for this project. It is being written in VS Code. Hoping to have a playable version in a few days.
August 20, 2022- The Beginning!
